Nvidia Corp.’s CEO Jensen Huang delivered a keynote at CES 2025, which took place Jan. 7-10, 2025 in Las Vegas. Huang will return to Las Vegas for this year’s CES, happening Jan. 6-9.
CES, the giant consumer technology show, is right around the corner, taking place Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas. From cloud computing/data and cybersecurity to space tech and robotics, there will be much to explore through the event’s packed lineup of keynotes, panel discussions and networking opportunities.
AI is expected to take center stage at CES. Ahead of the event, Nvidia Corp.—the world’s largest company with a market valuation of about $4.5 trillion—will host a media-only press conference on Jan. 5, during which CEO Jensen Huang will present the company’s roadmap for accelerating both generative and physical AI, the New York Post reports. A key focus will be how physical AI will be used for products far beyond robotics, from drones to everyday items like refrigerators.
“The Jensen keynote speech is front and center in terms of strategic direction for AI,” Dan Ives, managing director and senior equity research analyst at Wedbush, told New York Post’s Lydia Moynihan. “It’s not just everyone in tech and markets watching, but everyone around the world.”
Meanwhile, Lisa Su, CEO of semiconductor designer Advanced Micro Devices Inc., is expected to announce new chips that are said to be more cost-effective alternatives to Nvidia’s GPU’s, according to the Post report.
Healthcare will also be an important topic covered at CES. In its roundup of health-focused happenings at the show, Healthcare Brew says that execs from major tech companies (Nvidia, Google, Microsoft AI), healthcare systems (Cleveland Clinic) and health companies (Eli Lilly) will discuss big topics including the next decade of healthcare, longevity tech and agentic AI and the growing influence of tech giants in the health industry.
When it comes to the automotive industry, Mashable predicts that the continued shift to software-defined vehicles will be the focus at CES. Companies will highlight operating systems, modular software stacks and over-the-air updates as well as opportunities for automakers to roll out features, apps and services for vehicles even after they’re purchased.
In partnership with the Consumer Technology Association, SME will participate at CES for the first time with the inaugural Advanced Manufacturing Showcase. Twelve co-located exhibitors will highlight key manufacturing initiatives, products and services. The group includes AURA Technologies, Alchemi Data Management, EOS, Formlabs, JR Automation, Lumafield, Mastercam, Orases, PAR Systems, Terragrit, Teradyne Robotics (Universal Robots and MiR) and Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions.
In addition, SME’s Knowledge Bar will feature industry leaders speaking on critical issues in manufacturing innovation, including automation, AI, workforce development, regulations and metrology, and more.
SME Executive Director and CEO Jeannine Kunz will share how new training models, skills development and emerging technology are reshaping modern manufacturing during her session on Jan. 7 at 3:35 pm in room N261 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
